Samson and Miles examine a Bioroid. (Robotech: The Robotech Masters: "Danger Zone")
Samson Beckett was a scientist working for the United Earth Government during the Second Robotech War. He often worked besides Miles Cochrane, and was in charge of the initial study of much of the Robotech Masters' technology.
He and Miles were both the first to study a damaged enemy Bioroid, where they discovered that the pilot was more than likely Human rather than Micronised Zentraedi, as previously thought. (Masters Saga: "Danger Zone")
Beckett also had a part in studying the Green Bioroid captured by Dana Sterling as she escaped the Masters' flagship. Along with Louie Nichols, they were able to piece together the nature of the Bioroid pilots — partially android, with a larger plane of control also having a part in controlling those inside. (Masters Saga: "Metal Fire")
After the capture of Zor Prime, Cochrane and Beckett were put in charge of study him and also keeping him alive. At the time, he was in a poor state, and had to be kept on a machine to help him breathe. Zor was almost taken out of Cochrane's command when Anatole Leonard did not approve of him being assigned the pilot without his permission, but Rolf Emerson apologized for not telling him and talked Leonard to leave Zor in Cochrane's control.
