The MODAT 6 Prototype. (Robotech: The Movie)

The MODAT 6 was a prototype model that was a successor of the MODAT 5.

As such, it was created with a similar control interface and, more importantly, was meant to be linked with the EVE super computer.

Its armaments included a pair of main particle beams located on the shoulders and was equipped with an energy shield that allowed it to pierce the enemy shields. In addition, this mecha transformed into a sophisticated fighter plane with the capacity to enter into orbit. If damaged, the shell of the plane was able to be discarded and the MODAT 6 took on the appearance of a cycle similar to its predecessor namely the MODAT 5.

A wounded Mark Landry encountered the plane and discovered that its controls were similar to the MODAT 5 and used it along with EVE's help to pilot the craft. He transformed into Battloid mode where he used the prototype to kill the clone of Colonel Andrews, thus stopping the Robotech Masters' plans. (Robotech: The Movie)

In the original film, the mecha is never named. The comic is where the name "MODAT-6" comes from.

In Robotech: The Movie, Landry pilots a second MODAT type mecha after commandeering the craft though the animated movie does not mention it being called a MODAT 6 and its appearance is different from the comic version. In addition, the vehicle was not used to destroy the Robotech Masters mothership in the Movie.
