Lynn Minmei (sometimes written Lynn Minmay, such as in Episode 28: Reconstruction Blues) is a character of Robotech: The Macross Saga TV series and Wildstorm comic Robotech: Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles. She is the initial love interest of Rick Hunter and an idol singer and movie star in SDF-1 and later on the reconstructed planet Earth. She has very significant roles during the First Robotech War, the most important of which is perhaps her emotional and psychological role in extermination of Dolza and his fleet of 4.8 million space battleship. According to Episode 29: Robotech Masters, many of the Zentraedi who died in battle against Dolza were found dead while holding a Minmei doll in their hands.

Robotech Expeditionary ForceEdit

In 2022, on the verge of the launch of the Robotech Expeditionary Force (REF), led by the newly completed SDF-3, Rick and Lisa were finally married and Minmei, despite her latent feelings for Rick, was able to sing with her new partner Janice Em at their wedding. Even so, she could not help but feel sad as Rick and Lisa run off to their honeymoon, and she says to herself "Goodbye, Rick." (Robotech II: The Sentinels)

Minmei and Janice Em stowed away aboard the SDF-3 the next day. Minmei nearly suffocated in the small ship that they had snuck aboard in, but was saved by Jonathan Wolfe. As she recouperated in the medical ward, a mysterious stranger visited her in her sleep. (Robotech II: The Sentinels: Good Morning, Departure, Here, There, and Everywhere)

She traveled with it on its mission to find the Robotech Masters' homeworld, which lasted almost twenty-two years.

In the Wildstorm comic, Robotech: Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles, set in 2043, Minmei is kidnapped by Colonel T.R. Edwards, who has betrayed the REF to join with the Invid Regent. Edwards also kills her cousin, Lynn Kyle, who had tried to protect her. Minmei is held hostage for over a year before she is rescued. Minmei was subsequently taken to Tirol, the Robotech Masters' homeworld which has been freed from the control of the Invid.
