"Robotech/Voltron 3" is the third issue of Robotech/Voltron, the first Robotech comic series printed since "Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles" seven years earlier. It was the first serious Robotech crossover, although comedic Ninja High School and Dinosaurs For Hire crossovers had previously been printed in the early issues of Robotech II: The Sentinels.

Commander Keith Kogane struggles to find out what happened to his Voltron team as Colonel Edwards has top Robotechnologists toiling furiously to re-engineer the recovered lions back to into working order, but one of them is missing! A universe away, the SDF-1 puts up a gallant defense of the planet Arus, but how long can advanced alien technology hold out against the forces of black magic? In the midst of all this, Khyron the Backstabber brings his trademark Zentraedi treachery in his quest to claim the prize of the SDF-1 for himself!
Plot summary[]
Keith Kogane has awoken, and is brought before the RDF for debriefing.
Khyron's forces approach the Island, while Kogan is reunited with his teammates.
On Arus a generation ago, King Zarkon addresses his people. When she confronts him, he murders his wife. In the present, King Lotor is searching for Princess Allura.
On Earth, Skull Squadron fights the new invaders. The Black Lion then arrives as backup, destroying the Zentraedi Scoutship.
Back on Arus, Lotor summoned Haggar the Witch to control the Omega Comet. In the temporal distortion, the SDF-1 arrives. The automated systems return fire against the Drule.
